Member countries of the World Franchise Council (WFC) and the Asia-Pacific Franchise Confederation (APFC) have chosen to hold the 2026 World Franchise Council Meeting in Taiwan. The event will be organized by the Association of Chain and Franchise Promotion, Taiwan (ACFPT), which will host a series of international conferences and exhibitions to showcase Taiwan's robus
The World Franchise Council and the Asia-Pacific Franchise Confederation have 46 members. Each year, they hold international conferences in different countries to discuss global chain and franchise trends and organize business matching and trade missions. Member countries globally support each other with business receptions. This year's host country is Malaysia, where a banquet gathered more than 1,000 representatives from various countries.
To secure hosting rights for the 2026 annual conference, chairman of the Association of Chain and Franchise Promotion, Taiwan, Paul Wu, led a delegation of 11 directors and supervisors to Malaysia. They presented Taiwan's business environment and a reception plan to the WFC members, who unanimously agreed to have Taiwan host the 2026 World and Asia-Pacific WFC Council Meeting.
ACFPT Chairman Paul Wu stated that Taiwan's chain industry is strong, with a total of 3,000 chain brands. Taiwan boasts professional international exhibition capabilities, government support, and a thriving franchise economy. He is very much looking forward to having Taiwan contribute to the global chain and franchise industry in 2026.
This year's WFC chairman, who is also chairman of the Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA), Datuk Dr. Radzli Hassan, expressed that Malaysian and Taiwanese markets have always been very close. He is pleased that Taiwan will host the 2026 Council Meeting and believes it will provide exciting exhibition content for all member countries.
The ACFPT plans to host a six-in-one international franchise industry event in October 2026. This will include the World and Asia-Pacific Franchise Council Meeting, the Taiwan International Franchise Exhibition, business matching for chain and franchise opportunities, the International Chain and Franchise Forum, and a Taiwan city marketing tour. High-standard receptions will be provided for overseas buyer groups to promote Taiwanese brands globally.
