2023 Sustainable MICE Award Winners Announced

The 2023 Sustainable MICE Awards, organized by the International Trade Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs, encourages Taiwan's MICE industry to practice sustainable ESG concepts and reduce carbon emissions to achieve sustainability goals.

The Sustainable MICE Award for SDG Implementation recognizes MICE companies that have innovative approaches to implementing sustainable development goals in the areas of environment, society, and economy.

The Sustainable MICE Award for Carbon Emission Reduction recognizes innovative and replicable practices of carbon emission reduction during events organized by MICE companies and NGOs.

This year, a total of 35 projects vied for an award; after a two-month review by a professional judging panel, the top three of each award and several best practices were selected.

Notably, there were 27 projects entered in the Carbon Emission Reduction category this year. To encourage continuous improvement of MICE industry participants regarding sustainable actions and innovative practices, the judging panel decided to increase the category's number of best practice awards. Consequently, there were a total of 6 best practices for Carbon Emission Reduction this year.

Taiwan Lantern Festival to Light Up Taoyuan Convention and Exhibition Center Alongside 12-Day BAO KO MALL Festivities

Record-Breaking Yacht Showcase at Taiwan International Boat Show

The 2024 Taiwan International Boat Show concluded successfully in Kaohsiung. For the first time, the event was held entirely outdoors, spanning four marina zones: Horizon City Marina, Pier 22, Argo Yacht Club, and the Third Shipyard. A total of 77 vessels from 12 countries were on display, marking an all-time high. The exhibition also showcased a wide array of related components, marina management systems, and interior tools, demonstrating Taiwan's exceptional capabilities and innovative prowess in the luxury yacht industry to the global maritime community.The four-day exhibition attracted more than 351 international buyers from 42 countries and regions, along with nearly 14,000 industry professionals. Senior executives from prestigious yacht and industry associations in countries such as Italy, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, and the Philippines, as well as elite yacht buyers, attended the event to gain insights into the development of Taiwan's yacht industry.In addition to luxury yachts, the exhibition highlighted several groundbreaking unmanned technologies developed by Taiwanese companies. These included the SEASHARK series of unmanned vessels (a collaboration between Morningstar Boats and Thunder Tiger Corporation), as well as the Piranha 9 stealth unmanned vessel from Corum Yachts, both of which stood out as major attractions.The show also witnessed strong sales momentum with a total of 12 yachts sold: the 28L by Ocean Alexander, the Ruby 72 by Grand Harbour Yachts, and the Hylas 44 by Queen Long Marine at Horizon City Marina and Pier 22; the Princess V50, Antares 11 FLY, SX 320 GTC, SX 205, and XO EXPLR 9 at the Argo Yacht Club; and the KING FISHER 697, Stabicraft 1550, and two 650HT series speedboats from Morningstar Aluminum Boats in the Third Shipyard.The show was co-hosted by the Taiwan International Trade Administration and the Kaohsiung City Government, organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) under guidance from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ocean Affairs Council, and the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, with support from the Maritime and Port Bureau.
